![]() Artist's Statement:
"Over the past 40 years, I have worked in many mediums: oil, watercolor, ceramics, textile design, interior design, and jewelry, only discovering glass 10 years ago. I have always been inspired by nature in my art, but flowers and insects (bugs) are truly my favorite. In my new Pate de Verre pieces, I am trying to capture the beauty and fragility of these objects, While gardening, hiking, walking I am often overwhelmed by how beautiful flowers and bugs can be, only to find it the next day wilted, or "gone". Pate de Verre is also, by nature, VERY fragile needing extra care in handling. When lighted properly the viewer can see how delicate these pieces are... and hopefully appreciate their beauty." |
